About the work
For me broad, bright colors have always conjured a sensory-emotive experience. My work is intended to transport a viewer into a world of fragmented emotional realism where vivid and romantic images yield feelings of nostalgia, remorse, insecurity, and/or anxiousness. The female subjects in my work represent personal experiences where they (the subjects) are forced to view themselves. The work may be seen as a woman's sigh of resignation upon contemplating her unavoidable acceptance of social interaction. These silent figures remain in an emotional limbo, caught between aesthetic beauty and emotional discomfort.
